The challenge

The Bad news Following a major theft in July 2010, urgent repairs needed to be made to All Saints. Roof repairs required roughly £30,000. All Saints didn't have £30,000 (or anywhere near it.)
The response On 25th July 2010, an urgent appeal was announced, aiming to raise £25,000 to add to the £5,000 maximum claim which our Insurance company will apply for any external metal theft claim. The current position (31st Oct)The new roof is in place, the temporary plastic sheeting having been replaced by Sarnafil synthetic compound. Birse Rail have done a wonderful job restoring the church grounds, following their term of restoration work on the adjacent railway bridge, and we look forward to a return to some normality.
The Good news After one day, we had £115, of which £70 was GiftAided (which means an extra £19.60) By 31st October we had banked £19,600 + GiftAid will add another £1,800 We express our thanks to all those who have already given so much, particularly most recently our friends at St Mary the Virgin, Davuhulme, for their very generous donation.
