Welcome to our website, and if we’ve still yet to meet, it would be great to get to know you! Here at All Saints we love and serve a God who has first loved and served us: we’re passionate about the one who welcomes all, irrespective of who we are or what we’ve done, and in some way we hope to offer this same welcome too. It’s about following him.
It’s a real privilege to be a priest and I greatly enjoy the varied nature of parish life. I love following Jesus because it’s only in him that I can flourish and live life to the full – it’s Him that we’re made for. Here in Stretford I have a particular responsibility to develop work between local churches and schools and greatly enjoy spending time opening the stories of the Bible with people of all ages.
I am married to Laura, my fabulous wife, who I met at university where we both studied German. Together we have a little girl called Anna, who has inherited my hair, but her mother’s good looks; and a little boy Eric, they are a delight and bring much joy into our home. I enjoy keeping active and like to try my hand at drawing and painting. I am never found far from a book, and as a family we enjoy playing in the park and going for walks. Curate: Revd Mary Hough
Revd Mary was ordained priest in July 2022 and is OLM (Ordained Local Minister) curate at All Saints. . She feels particularly called to
the pastoral side of ministry; she enjoys listening to people and praying with them.
Mary is from Liverpool originally but has lived in Manchester for nearly forty years and counts herself as a Mancunian! Before ordination she worked for Trafford Council in the Library Service; she took early retirement in November 2020 to focus on her training for ordination and to give her more time for ministry.
Mary enjoys walking; she and her husband David holiday in Scotland every year and love walking there. Mary also loves reading and baking. She has a son and daughter and two lovely grandchildren; she loves spending time with family. Mary can usually be contacted any day except Thursday and Friday.
